North Coast Design Build has broken ground on a 26 bed skilled care therapy expansion of Amherst Manor in Amherst, Ohio. In addition to construction services, North Coast provided structural and civil engineering services for the design in partnership with RDL Architects the design firm for the project. Construction is expected to commence as soon as weather permits in the spring of 2016. Photos to follow the project progress.
Construction has begun on the Amherst Central School Adaptive Reuse project located in Amherst, Ohio. This beautiful building that was built in 1907 and added onto in 1922, served thousands of Amherst Children until 1982 when it was closed. North Coast served as the designer for the project and will lead the renovation team as we transform the old school into a beautiful Assisted Living Facility. We are excited not only to restore such a beautiful old building, but to return to use in the Amherst Community. The $12mm development is expected to be completed in a little over a year.

Grande Village, which currently consists of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Orthopedic and Short-Term Rehabilitation, Hospice, Home Health, and Memory Care services is answering the community’s increasing demand for premier continuum of care.
August 2017: North Coast Design Build broke ground on our new corporate office building located on the shores of Lake Erie in Sheffield Lake, OH. The project borrows design elements from historic train stations in the area and capitalizes on its lakeside location with a cantilevered deck overlooking Lake Erie. Our team wishes to thank Withers Design Group and the City of Sheffield Lake for their efforts and support which have helped make the project possible. We are excited to start the new year in our new home.
Our team has delivered another project on time and under budget! The 45 bed addition to The Towne Center Assisted Living Campus in Avon Lake, Ohio was completed in only 7 months. The Combination of North Coast, RDL, and Sprenger's focus on safety, planning, hard work and dedication really shows!

In May 2016, North Coast Design Build took part in the Ohio Health Care Association's Annual Convention that was held in Columbus, Ohio. The exhibit was a great success and we were happy to have the opportunity to interact with over 200 health care professionals at our booth alone.
Work is complete inside and out at the Smithville Western Care Center located in Wooster, Ohio. The NCDB Team would like to thank the facility staff for the teamwork and effort they put in to assist is maintaining the construction schedule while keeping the facility operating for residents.
The North Coast Team wishes to congratulate our Pine Grove residents as they move into their new homes this month. The Mentor Network, Withers Design Group and North Coast partnered to provide three, beautiful, new ICF Group Homes which were completed in an astonishing schedule of under 4 months! The new homes will provide a state of the art environment for the residents served for many years to come. North Coast is proud to have served as the engineering firm, general contractor and owner of these beautiful facilities.
The North Coast team has completed another successful HUD 241 addition and renovation in partnership with Withers Design Group. North Coast served as structural engineer, civil engineer, landscape designer and general contractor for the project. The therapy wing addition and renovation of the existing skilled care wing complement the beautiful original home which was constructed more than a century ago in West Union, OH. We wish to congratulate our client, H&G Nursing Homes, on a wonderful project.

North Coast was honored to be selected as Design-Builder for the renovation and expansion of their original branch located in Elyria, Ohio. The CommStar team and North Coast have worked in partnership for a fast track build which will have customers back into their branch in less than 4 months! Work will be completed in early September.

TALLMADGE, OHIO (January 6th, 2014)- Mayor David G. Kline, Dennis Loughry, Economic Development Manager, Bruce Beckwith, President of the Tallmadge Chamber of Commerce, and Mike Cloud joined Sprenger Health Care executives at Heather Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation today in celebration of a groundbreaking that marked the beginning of an expansion project that will add private orthopedic and rehabilitation beds to the existing skilled nursing facility.

North Coast Design Build served as both the GC and Civil Engineer in collaboration with The Withers Design Group who provided the architectural services. Our Team has broken ground on the Avon Towne Center assisted living Facility! We anticipate completion in spring of 2017.
Sprenger Health Care Systems is scheduled to break ground on a new 45 bed assisted living unit at their campus in Avon Lake Ohio in summer 2016. The project includes a two-story atrium leading to an internal court yard, additional office space and an assisted living unit specializing in memory care services. North Coast Design Build has been selected as the General Contractor for this project. Additional details to follow as the project progresses.

Congratulations to the Woodlands Group on the Grand Opening of their new rehabilitation addition to the Hampton Woods Campus located in Poland, OH. The 20,934 sq. ft. addition features 26 beautiful private rooms along with a 5000 sq. ft. therapy gym, new dining facility, activities room and solarium.
We are excited to announce that North Coast Design Build has completed construction on Empowered Community Services of Englewood located at 500 Union Blvd. in Englewood, Ohio. This beautiful facility provides a welcoming and engaging space designed specifically for Adult Day Services. North Coast performed the design work in addition to serving as the general contractor for this inspiring project.
The North Coast team participated in a program sponsored by St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Sheffield Village, OH, the goal of which is to provide essential everyday items to infants in need in the Lorain County area. We want to thank our staff who generously donated over 13,000 diapers to help infants in need this holiday season.
North Coast Design Build has completed exterior renovation work for the St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Sheffield Village, OH. A new roof was installed that was chosen to match the look of the historic slate roof that was removed. The renovation work also included updated gutters to properly protect this beautiful Church.
Congratulations to Opportunity Homes Inc! North Coast Design Build broke ground this week on a new ICF/IID Adult Group Home for the organization in Lisbon, OH. North Coast Design Build served as the civil engineer and Withers Design Group served as the architect for the project. We look forward to completing this project this winter.
Each new Assisted Living apartment in the Grande Village Villas is a beautifully designed 1,000 square foot, 2 bedroom unit featuring an open floor plan, master bedroom walk-in closet, and full in-suite kitchen and laundry. With oversized windows throughout, the apartments are naturally well lit. Residents can entertain guests in the vast living space or relax while enjoying the serene park-like environment on their first floor patio or second and third floor balconies. A heated underground parking garage offers convenience and the comfort of knowing residents and their vehicles will not be subject to inclement weather.
In addition to the newly licensed apartments, renovations were made to The Villas’ lobby, dining room, kitchen, and lounges. The renovated space was designed in a traditional style, while showcasing touches of old world quality. Rich wood tones combined with soft gold and brown paint selections and cozy furniture generate a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the granite slated bar bids visitors stay and share memories over a cold drink. Residents will also benefit from the newly constructed kitchen which was planned to allow for upgraded menu selections. With a spacious dining room that overlooks the property’s wooded lot through expansive bay windows, guests are reminded of tranquility fit for a vacation home.
To enhance safety for the residents, The Villas added a Nurses Station to the second floor. Caregivers are available to provide assistance 24/7. “[The staff] are all so friendly, polite and eager to be of help in any way they can,” explains Pat Pardee, a current resident at the Villas, “As of today, I am truly able to say I have found a new home and am happy to be here.”
Independent Living at The Villas is still available with a la carte services, making it convenient for residents who have increasing needs to receive the level of care they desire in an environment that is familiar. The Villas’ staff is trained and happy to help residents customize their care to achieve a comfortable and preferred living style.
Sprenger Health Care and Grande Village Retirement Community invite the community to a public open house August 25th, 2015 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Festivities will include facility tours, live entertainment and an opportunity to network with staff and neighbors.

Congratulations to William T. Wuliger and the law firm of Wuliger, Fadel and Beyer on the completion of their new office space at the MAFCO building at 2003 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland. The building was purchased by Mr. Wuliger in January 2016. Mr. Wuliger born and raised in Shaker Heights has practiced Law in downtown Cleveland for over 40 years. He recently sold the Brownell School Building where he housed his practice for over thirty years. His vision for the new location was a modern contemporary open space office complex inside a 1911 building frame. North Coast Design Build, in partnership with Tomsik & Tomsik Architects, struck a balance between clean lines, modern light fixtures, contemporary offices and the original elements of open face brick, oak ceilings, and rock maple floors. The final product is a stunning, open space, modern office complex that has incorporated the natural lighting, and original elements of the building.
We are excited to announce that North Coast Design Build is partnering with RDL Architects and Sprenger Healthcare to renovate and expand the existing dormitory and training facility located at 2101 All Pro Athletic Avenue in Lorain, Ohio. This facility will include a state of the art wellness spa, fitness, class rooms and manicured grounds. North Coast will begin the first phase of work in October 2018.
What a party! The North Coast Team was extremely happy and a little proud to see the turnout for the open house. All in all we estimate over 150 in attendance. Great job to all involved!
North Coast will break ground this spring on an addition and renovation of a skilled nursing facility located in West Union, OH. The project team includes Withers Design Group, Love Funding and the Houser Family - owners and operators of the facility. The team has worked together to develop the project over the past year and it will be a wonderful addition to the community in Adams County.
NCDB provided engineering services working in partnership with WDG and will also serve as the general contractor for the project.
The Rehabilitation Unit will consist of 26 private rooms, adding an additional 14,000 gross square feet to the existing building at 1134 North Avenue. A vaulted ceiling skylight will allow natural light to cascade across the unit creating an illuminated interior space. With the ambiance of a modern resort, the space will offer a comfortable atmosphere that is both familiar and inviting for residents and their families. The common areas will be amicable to all with access to a cozy seating area, fireplace and coffee bar.
“We are excited about this endeavor as it will position Heather Knoll for the future of health care while creating jobs for the community in the process,” stated Kevin Kauffman, Regional Administrator. In an effort to increase the comfort of each resident, the rooms within the new development will be private and feature flat screen televisions as well as personal bathrooms with walk-in showers. Katie Moody, Administrator for Heather Knoll expresses, “We are very excited for the new addition and adding additional private suites to care for our community in need of rehabilitation.” In addition to the Rehabilitation wing, Heather Knoll’s construction includes the renovation of the existing Porte-cochere. The new lodge-style façade will enhance Heather Knoll’s curb appeal and uphold Sprenger Health Care’s high standards of aesthetic charm.

On December 17, 2017 North Coast Design Build was contacted by one it's clients to inform us of a major fire suppression line bursting within in The Willows. NCDB immediately mobilized and engaged in the total rehab of the wing. In only 5 months to the day, North Coast was able to turn the wing over to the client for re-population..
North Coast Design Build sponsored a booth at the BGSU career fair in February and is pleased to welcome two Cooperative Education Students from their Construction Management Program this Summer. The Co-Op program allows students to gain work place experience and gives the employer the opportunity to train young people who can join our team upon graduation.

The 14,800 sf project opens a new chapter for the residents and staff of Jac-Lin Manor which has been serving residents in Loudonville for over 30 years. The new facilities will combine sate of the art design with a comfortable residential atmosphere. Once again North Coast will serve as engineer, general contractor and developer. Holly Hill, a proven leader in comprehensive rehabilitation services, is undergoing a major expansion and renovation on the Newbury Ohio campus.
